Some instant noodle products sold in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario have been recalled due to undeclared peanuts in the ingredients - posing a potential risk to consumers with allergies.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency stated that the recall affects two types of instant noodles branded Baixiang, from Five Continents International Ltd.

The CFIA said in a recall alert on Wednesday: "Do not consume the recalled products if you are allergic to them or any of their ingredients as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction." "The recalled products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase."

The affected products are Baixiang chicken soup-flavored instant noodles, sold in five-pack units with the UPC code 6 935270 34198 8 or 6 935270 641988, and Baixiang instant noodles with artificial pork bone soup flavor, also sold in five-pack units with the UPC code 6 935270 64197. The CFIA did not include package images with its recall alert.

The recall was initiated due to a consumer complaint, but no "adverse reactions" linked to the noodles have been reported so far, according to the CFIA.
