The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, announced the formation of a bilateral committee to schedule the withdrawal of international coalition forces from Iraq.
Al Sudani said today, Friday, that "no party has the right to violate Iraq's sovereignty."
Iraq has escalated its official and political positions against the international coalition and US forces in the country, following the attack that targeted yesterday, Thursday, the headquarters of the "Al-Nujaba Movement" in Baghdad, which resulted in the killing of the special operations commander of the faction, whom Washington accuses of carrying out attacks against military bases in Iraq and Syria.
Demands to end the American military presence in Iraq have also intensified, as the spokesman for the armed forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, described in a rare statement the attack as "an assault similar to terrorist acts," holding the international coalition responsible for the strike.
Washington deploys 2,500 troops in Iraq and about 900 in Syria as part of what is called the "International Coalition to Combat ISIS," which was announced upon its formation in 2014.
