Experts from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Solar Terrestrial Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences expect the Earth to be exposed to a new magnetic storm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
According to experts' forecasts, the peak of the magnetic storm will be at 6 AM on Tuesday and at 12 noon on the same day, but it will be weak at level G1 (the highest level is G5). However, it may affect the health condition of some individuals.
It is worth noting that laboratory experts previously announced that the strongest flare in the current solar cycle occurred on the night of January 1, 2024 (X5.0 level, which is approximately double the flare X2.8 that occurred on December 14, 2023, and was the strongest until the night of January 1, 2024.
It is also mentioned that the strongest solar flare (X8.2) was recorded on September 10, 2017.
