British Foreign Secretary David Cameron confirmed today, Wednesday, that a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is necessary to allow the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip, but he stressed that many conditions must first be met in order to reach a permanent ceasefire.
Cameron told Reuters in an interview during a visit to Thailand, "What we must decisively try to do is turn this pause into a permanent and sustainable ceasefire."
He added, "We will only do that if a large set of conditions are met... We have to remove Hamas leaders from Gaza, and we have to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure," he said.
It is noteworthy that the war on the Gaza Strip has claimed tens of thousands of Palestinian victims along with the death of thousands of children due to hunger.
