Israel expresses regret after Canada halts arms exports to it

Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said, "It is unfortunate that the Canadian government is taking a step that undermines Israel's right to self-defense" against Hamas.

The Israeli minister added that "history will harshly judge Canada's current actions," noting that "Israel will continue fighting until Hamas is destroyed and all captives are returned."

Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly had confirmed that no arms will be exported from now on, in line with the commitment stated in last Monday's decision, adding that the government "intends to fulfill its pledge" to the New Democratic Party.
