After the wolves escaped from their enclosure on Tuesday, people hoping to visit the Greater Vancouver Zoo were turned away at the gates.
According to a spokesperson for the Conservation Officer Service in British Columbia, officers were called to "recapture" an unspecified number of escaped wolves.
The zoo's website states that it houses 15 animals, including six newly born cubs.
An email to CTVNews said: "According to the zoo, one wolf is still at large. The zoo is working to recover it."
The BCCOS spokesperson later clarified that the wolf had indeed escaped and no one was injured.
The Greater Vancouver Zoo has not yet released a detailed statement about the incident, posting a brief message to Instagram and Facebook stories to inform people of the closure.
The post, with a picture of the closed gates, said "Important announcement for all zoo guests. The Greater Vancouver Zoo will remain closed today."
