The United Nations warned today, Thursday, that the human rights situation in the West Bank is rapidly deteriorating, calling on Israel to end the unlawful killings against the Palestinian people.
The United Nations, in a report it issued and reported by France 24 news channel in its bulletin, called for the immediate cessation of the use of weapons and military means during law enforcement operations, as well as an end to arbitrary detention and ill-treatment of Palestinians and the lifting of discriminatory restrictions imposed on freedom of movement.
For his part, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, said that the use of military tactics and weapons in the context of law enforcement and the use of unnecessary or disproportionate force, along with the imposition of wide-ranging and arbitrary restrictions on Palestinians, are matters of concern.
The United Nations Human Rights Office said that the killing of 300 Palestinians was verified during the period from last October 7 to December 27 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including 79 children.
