White House spokesperson John Kirby urged all parties to sit down at the negotiating table regarding Gaza.

He stated in comments reported by Al Jazeera in a breaking news story that "both sides must make concessions in order to bridge the gaps to implement a ceasefire agreement in Gaza."

He pointed out that "Washington believes that Israel has achieved most of its military objectives in Gaza and has succeeded in defeating Hamas," expressing hope for progress in the negotiations.

In a related context, he noted that "information indicates that Iran has not backed down from its threat to attack Israel," adding, "We hope it does not come to that."

A knowledgeable official told Reuters today, Thursday, that talks have begun in Doha regarding the ceasefire in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners.

The Qatari capital, Doha, is hosting today a new round of negotiations regarding Gaza, which is crucial for reaching a ceasefire agreement and releasing detainees in Gaza.

The round is being held with representatives from Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Israel, while Hamas is absent from it.

For its part, a high-ranking source stated that the Egyptian negotiating delegation in Doha is making intensive efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The source mentioned in statements to Cairo News Channel that Egypt has renewed to all parties the necessity of finding a consensual formula to urgently reach a truce.
