The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently announced its approval for the listing of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for Bitcoin (BTC) options on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).
The agency confirmed that both exchanges are now able to list options contracts linked to approved Bitcoin funds. This decision follows the approval of a rule change at the Nasdaq, allowing options trading on the (IBIT) fund.
The committee expressed its confidence that this step will contribute to enhancing competitiveness, offering multiple benefits including improved hedging opportunities, increased liquidity, and enhanced pricing efficiency, in addition to reducing market volatility.
This development represents a significant step in the cryptocurrency investment market, and it is expected to contribute to increased trading activity and attract additional investments in this growing sector.
