The police in Ottawa are laying charges against three people in a kidnapping and extortion case in Orleans.

Ottawa police announced that charges have been laid against three individuals in connection with a kidnapping, robbery, and extortion incident that occurred in the Orléans area on October 21.

According to a press release issued on Friday, one of the suspects moved the victim to a house in Orléans, where the victim was held against their will, assaulted, filmed, and forced to hand over money. The victim managed to escape the next day and asked another person to inform the police.

Arrests and Charges

October 25: Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect and laid charges against him that include:

• Armed robbery

• Kidnapping

• Forcible confinement

• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace

• Possession of child pornography

• Breach of conditions of release

• November 13: Police executed a search warrant at a house in Orléans, where they found evidence that led to charges against two other individuals:

A 35-year-old woman, facing charges that include:

• Kidnapping

• Forcible confinement

• Sexual assault with a weapon

• Possession of child pornography

• Theft

• Exploitation of a minor

A 20-year-old man, facing similar charges in addition to breach of conditions of release.

Ongoing Investigation

Ottawa police expressed concern that there may be other victims and urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
