Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi decided to immediately recall the Jordanian ambassador to Israel, expressing Jordan's rejection and condemnation of the "ongoing Israeli war on Gaza," and directed to inform the Israeli Foreign Ministry not to return its ambassador who had previously left Amman, according to a statement issued by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
The statement said: "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi decided today to immediately recall the Jordanian ambassador to Israel to Jordan, expressing Jordan's stance rejecting and condemning the raging Israeli war on Gaza, which kills innocents, causes an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, and carries dangerous potential for expansion, threatening the security of the entire region and international security and peace."
The statement added that Safadi directed "the relevant department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates to inform the Israeli Foreign Ministry not to return its ambassador who had previously left the Kingdom."
The Foreign Ministry added that Safadi indicated that "the return of ambassadors will be linked to Israel stopping its war on Gaza and stopping the humanitarian disaster it causes and all its measures that deprive Palestinians of their right to food, water, medicine, and their right to live safely and stably on their national soil."
The Jordanian Foreign Minister emphasized that "Jordan will continue to work to stop the war on Gaza, bring in humanitarian aid, protect civilians, and protect the region from its repercussions and its catastrophic impact on the future of the region and its right to just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution that embodies the independent and sovereign national Palestinian state with its capital occupied Jerusalem on the lines of June 4, 1967, which represents the only way to guarantee the security of all the peoples of the region and its countries."
