The Canadian Authority for Egyptian Heritage held the first festival for children to introduce them to the history and civilization of Egypt and to foster a spirit of belonging, with the presence of writer Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat as the guest of honor for the first festival, on the occasion of the Egyptian Heritage Month in Canada, which coincides with July every year.
The children participated in storytelling workshops about Islamic and Pharaonic history, and the writer was honored by the Canadian Authority, as well as receiving a special recognition from Dr. Sherif Sabbawy, the first Egyptian to win a seat in the Ontario Parliament in Canada.
She also participated in the ceremony of raising the Egyptian flag in front of the Canadian Parliament in Toronto, attended by Ambassador Ahmed Hafiz.
