Thailand aims to attract 35 million tourists this year; approaching the level recorded before the Corona pandemic, which was 40 million visitors, through promotional campaigns to extend visitors' stay and festivals held throughout the year.
The news station "France 24" reported that the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sudawan Wangsuphakikossol, said on Wednesday that tourism revenues are expected to reach 3 trillion baht (the dollar is about 45 baht) from domestic and international tourism during 2024.
It is expected that foreign tourism income will range between 1.8 and 1.9 trillion baht.
The minister added that events and festivals have been organized during the year to achieve the annual goal.
She pointed out that the number of Chinese tourists is expected to reach 8 million this year.
