The elections abroad are held at 137 polling stations at Egypt's diplomatic and consular missions abroad in 121 countries, which have been equipped and supplied with modern tablets relied upon to read the national ID number or the machine-readable passport of the voter, in addition to equipping the computer units available at the embassies with special programs to manage the electoral process.
The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Washington had announced - a few days ago - that regarding the organization of the 2024 presidential elections for Egyptians abroad, it is honored to remind community members that the voting process will be organized at the embassy premises, as well as at the premises of the consulates general in New York, Houston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 1, 2, and 3, 2023, from 9 am to 9 pm local time for each city.
It added that the law requires every citizen to present the original of their national ID card or the original of their valid passport showing their national ID number in order to cast their vote, expressing her sincere appreciation to the members of the Egyptian community in the United States of America and her eagerness to welcome the honorable citizens at the embassy during the voting times to exercise their constitutional rights.
A number of members of the Egyptian community in Austria also flocked to the embassy premises in the capital Vienna to cast their votes in the presidential elections, which last for three days simultaneously with all embassies abroad.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Molla, Egypt’s ambassador in Vienna and its representative before international organizations, and Consul General Mohamed El-Bahiri, were keen to provide all facilities to encourage members of the Egyptian community to vote.
The turnout is expected to increase during the next two days "the weekend in Austria".
Despite the bad weather and heavy snowfall, a number of community members were keen to attend and cast their votes.
The voting was preceded by a period of encouraging conferences organized by members of the community in different entities and associations, foremost of which are the Egyptian Club in Vienna and the Union of Egyptians in Leoben, which reflected a large sector's desire to participate and cast their votes, to support the democratic experience and implement the electoral entitlement in Egypt.
