The Singapore Department of Statistics announced today, Wednesday, that Singapore recorded a trade surplus of 7.778 billion Singapore dollars (5.78 billion US dollars) in December, compared to a surplus of 6.153 billion dollars in November.
Non-oil exports from Singapore declined by 2.8% month-on-month last month, while analysts expected a decline of 1.5% after a 0.3% growth the previous month.
On an annual basis, Singapore's non-oil exports fell by 1.5% last month, whereas analysts expected a growth of 3.3% after a 1% growth in November.
