The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that the incursions of extremist settlers into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, come within the framework of the continuous targeting of Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic holy sites, paving the way for full control over it and its Judaization, which constitutes a violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, including UNESCO resolutions.
The ministry demanded in a statement today, Tuesday, that the international community bear its legal and moral responsibilities towards the suffering of our people in general and Jerusalem and its holy sites in particular, considering it an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.
It pointed out that it is following these provocative incursions with the pillars of the international community, whether at the bilateral or multilateral level, and warns of their serious ramifications on the course of the conflict and the region as a whole.
The extreme Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, along with the so-called Minister of Negev and Galilee Itzhak Wasserlauf, today, Tuesday, stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under protection from the occupation police.
Local sources reported that Ben Gvir and Wasserlauf stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Maghrebi Gate and roamed the eastern courtyard, accompanied by a large number of occupation police personnel.
The sources indicated that the occupation prevented worshippers from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque concurrently with their incursion.
It is noteworthy that this incursion is the sixth for Ben Gvir into Al-Aqsa Mosque since he took office at the end of 2022.
The Islamic Waqf Department in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque stated that about 1800 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It reported that the settlers desecrated the courtyards, performed Talmudic rituals, and raised the Israeli flag in its courtyards, as thousands of settlers are expected to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque today during the morning and evening incursion periods.
The Waqf added that the occupation forces obstructed the entry of worshippers into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and deployed large forces at its gates to facilitate the settlers' incursions.
