Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated today, Friday, that it is necessary to stop the fighting in Gaza immediately, but unfortunately the world does not consider this a priority.

Bin Farhan said in a press conference before the meeting of Arab foreign ministers and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken: "Our message is consistent and clear, and it means that we believe it is absolutely necessary to end the fighting immediately."

He added: "One of the worrying facts in this conflict is that ending the conflict and fighting does not seem to be the world's main priority."

Bin Farhan also affirmed that a reliable roadmap must be put in place to establish a Palestinian state.

He said it is necessary "to see a significant enhancement of humanitarian aid," and that "it is unacceptable to restrict aid due to bureaucratic obstacles."

Robert Wood, Deputy US Ambassador to the United Nations, also stated at a meeting of the UN Security Council earlier today that the United States strongly supports lasting peace in Gaza but "does not support calls for an immediate ceasefire," noting that "this will only plant the seeds of the next war because Hamas does not wish to see lasting peace."
