Hisham Mahna, spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza, confirmed today, Thursday, that there is no longer any place to accommodate Palestinian displaced persons amid the ongoing displacement in the sector, coinciding with the brutal Israeli aggression since last October 7.

Mahna added, in a telephone intervention with "Cairo News" channel, that coordination with the medical authorities in the sector to support the injured and civilians has not stopped, noting that there must be an immediate stop to the bleeding in the sector, and an opportunity must be granted to medical teams for humanitarian response.

The spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza confirmed that a very limited number of hospitals in the sector are still able to receive the wounded and sick amid the continuous Israeli bombardment.

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has led to the martyrdom of more than 22,000 Palestinians, most of them children and women, in addition to thousands of missing persons.

Mahna also called for intensifying efforts to reach a sustainable political solution and stop the bleeding in the Gaza Strip, allowing medical teams to provide a valuable humanitarian response.

The Red Cross spokesperson said that humanitarian and military solutions are no longer suitable for the current crisis, which was confirmed by the committee’s head during her visit to both sides last month, stressing the necessity of providing the necessary security means and measures and the continued flow of life-saving humanitarian aid, coupled with a cessation of hostilities.

He added that for the third time, the medical complex belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Khan Younis, which houses thousands of displaced people, as well as hundreds of wounded, injured, and medical staff, has been targeted, pointing out that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic.

He continued that all that associations and international institutions provide exceeds all their capabilities, due to the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the military operation and combat activities amid the ongoing military siege imposed on the sector, and the absence of the necessary security measures that allow humanitarian teams to move freely and provide a valuable humanitarian response.

He confirmed that the International Committee of the Red Cross continues to coordinate with the medical authorities in Gaza represented by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, in addition to international institutions and organizations, to combine efforts and mechanisms and provide a meaningful humanitarian response, and to communicate with the parties to the conflict to discuss ways to stop the bloodshed.
