Ra'nana: One person killed and 16 others injured in stabbing and running-over incidents

Magen David Adom reported today, Monday, the killing of one person and the injury of 16 others, 3 of them in critical condition, in stabbing and ramming incidents in Ra'anana in central Israel.

The spokesperson for Magen David Adom said that medical teams are dealing with multiple injuries on Harushot Street in Ra'anana due to a stabbing and ramming incident, and a stampede incident on Azouza Street at the corner of Jerusalem Road in the city.

He added: "One person was killed and 16 others were injured, 3 of them critically, and the rest sustained moderate and minor injuries."

The police said that "an unusual event is taking place in Ra'anana, and police forces are at the scene conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the event."

The Israeli emergency service also confirmed "the injury of several Israelis due to being hit and stabbed in several places in Ra'anana, in an incident under police investigation, with 3 people seriously wounded and 6 others moderately wounded."

The police spokesman, Eli, said that "it is still not possible to determine whether the ramming and stabbing incident in Ra'anana is an attack or not." According to him, there are 3 incidents in 3 locations.

Levy also mentioned that "large forces and special units are present at the scene, trying to understand the scale of the event and still do not know whether it constitutes one danger or more."

Later, the Israeli police said that "it concerns a ramming operation during which a suspect used a stolen vehicle to ram several Israelis, and 13 injured were transferred to hospitals."

Our correspondent reported that it is about a rolling operation during which the perpetrator changed 3 cars, pointing out that the perpetrator is from Hebron and is under arrest.

The Israeli police also indicated that they are conducting a search for another perpetrator of the Ra'anana operation, and the correspondent said that police helicopters are pursuing the suspect.

Meanwhile, the official Israeli broadcasting authority said that the perpetrator is banned from entering Israel by a decision of the Shin Bet (Israeli Security Agency) and it seems that he managed to infiltrate.
