Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani affirmed that the continuation of Israeli bombing on the Gaza Strip after the end of the truce complicates mediation efforts and exacerbates the humanitarian disaster in the sector, pointing to Qatar's commitment along with its partners in mediation to continue efforts to return to calm leading to a permanent ceasefire.

This came during his meeting today, Sunday, on the sidelines of the "Doha Forum 2023," with the Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Shtayyeh, where they reviewed ways to develop bilateral cooperation relations, the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and ways to reduce escalation and ceasefire, according to what was reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The Qatari Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of opening humanitarian corridors sustainably to ensure the continued entry of aid to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, and providing the necessary protection for relief convoys until they reach the northern sector, expressing Qatar's firm position condemning all forms of targeting civilians, and that killing innocent civilians, especially women and children, and practicing collective punishment policies are unacceptable under any pretext.

In this context, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East /UNRWA/ Philippe Lazzarini the cooperative relations between Qatar and the United Nations.

Lazzarini expressed the agency’s appreciation for Qatar’s continuous support of its programs, contributing to meeting the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian brothers.
