Colombia and Chile announced on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the recall of their ambassadors to Tel Aviv for consultations, in protest against the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip, where about 9,000 Palestinians have been martyred since the aggression began 26 days ago.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro confirmed the recall of his country's ambassador to Tel Aviv for consultations, protesting what he described as "the massacre committed by Israel against the Palestinians," the latest of which was the Jabalia massacre in which about 400 were killed or injured.

Petro said in a post on the "X" platform that he decided to recall his ambassador in Israel for consultations "and if Israel does not stop the massacre against the Palestinian people, we will not be able to stay there."

Chilean President Gabriel Boric also announced that his country had recalled its ambassador to Israel for consultations, after the latter's violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.

Boric wrote in a post on the "X" platform yesterday, Wednesday, "Given the unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, we, the Chilean government, have decided to recall Chile’s ambassador to Israel, Jorge Carvajal, to Santiago for consultations."

He also added, "Chile strongly condemns and is deeply concerned that these military operations, at this stage of their development, constitute collective punishment of the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza and do not respect the fundamental rules of international law, as evidenced by the fall of more than 8,000 civilian casualties, most of whom are women and children."

In another post, the Chilean president said, "Today alone, Israel bombed the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in the death of dozens.. Netanyahu and his army openly violate international law."

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry of Bolivia announced on Tuesday, October 31, that the government had decided to sever diplomatic relations with Israel for committing crimes against humanity in its attacks on the Gaza Strip.
