President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with King Abdullah II bin Hussein, the King of Jordan, on the sidelines of the international conference for emergency humanitarian response in Gaza, held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The official spokesman for the Presidency stated that the two leaders affirmed the strength and depth of the historical relations extending between the two brotherly countries, expressing appreciation for the ongoing alignment and coordination between the two countries' leaderships regarding regional and international issues.
The official spokesman added that the meeting included an agreement on the importance of continuing coordination and consultation regarding developments in the Gaza Strip, which was embodied in the joint call for holding the emergency humanitarian response conference in Gaza, believing in the necessity of immediate and urgent action to mobilize international efforts to face the humanitarian disaster that the sector is experiencing, warning of the serious repercussions of the ongoing Israeli military operations, and emphasizing the necessity of reaching an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and protecting civilians.
Furthermore, the two leaders stressed their rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands, and their call for the unification of international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
