The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the opening of recruitment for the Border Services Officer Training Program.
The agency also mentioned that when candidates apply for the program, they are not applying for a specific job, but are likely to receive a formal job in the future.
When jobs become available, candidates who meet the qualifications may be contacted.
Applications will be kept for three months, and candidates will be notified before they expire.
Those contacted by the Canadian Border Services Agency have been assessed in the selection process.
Employees in the Border Services Officer Development Program do not need to reapply for this training program.
CBSA reported that the salary for the positions ranges from $69,423 to $77,302.
Job opportunities may include positions at various entry points across the country, including those available in small towns.
After completing the assessment process, candidates will need to complete the Officer Induction Training Program (OITP), and from there, successful recruits will continue as trainees in the Border Services Officer Development Program.
The OTIP program includes four weeks of online remote learning and 14 weeks of internship training at the Canadian Border Services College in Rigaud, Quebec.
The Canadian Border Services Agency stated that it will prioritize the assessment of candidates from the following groups:
Candidates who declare that they belong to one or more of the groups “Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and women.”
Candidates who declare their willingness to work at small border points or remote towns.
Candidates with recent experience as student border services officers.
Candidates who wish to obtain a bilingual French and English position only.
