Many bullet trains between the Japanese capital Tokyo and stations in eastern and central Japan stopped today, Tuesday; due to a power outage.
The operating company said that service will resume shortly.
Kyodo News Agency reported that East Japan Railway Company said the outage, which began at 10 a.m. local time, affected train operations on the Tohoku, Joetsu, and Hokuriku lines.
The company added that the issue was due to an overhead electric wire found hanging over the Shinkansen lines at a site in Saitama Prefecture north of Tokyo.
