The United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting tomorrow noon, Monday, to decide on the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations under the title "Admission of New Members".
The State of Palestine sent a message to the Security Council and the UN Secretary-General on this matter, supported by the Arab Group, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
The State of Palestine currently has the status of an "observer state" where the observer member does not have the right to vote on decisions adopted by the General Assembly, nor to compete for non-permanent membership of the Security Council.
