Canada is witnessing intense competition between the Conservatives and the Liberals, and perhaps the struggle between the two parties over imposing the carbon tax and the Conservatives' opposition led by Pierre Poilievre to the tax imposed by Justin Trudeau's government is the most prominent event within the Canadian political scene.
And the latest opinion poll showed that leader Pierre Poilievre maintains a 15-point lead over the Liberals led by Justin Trudeau, who now enjoy the support of 20 percent of the surveyed voters via Abacus Data.
During the polling period, which also witnessed a struggle between the Liberals and the New Democrats with divisions over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the poll also found that if federal elections were held now, 46% of participants felt that Poilievre would emerge victorious compared to 21% for Trudeau and eight percent for the New Democratic Party.
