One person died and 13 were injured in a tourist bus accident in the Indian state of Kerala.

The Indian police announced the death of one person and the injury of 13 others due to a passenger bus losing control and overturning in the state of Kerala early on Saturday.

According to the Press Trust of India, the incident occurred when the bus was heading from Thiruvananthapuram to Udupi in the state of Karnataka.

The police said: "The driver may have dozed off at the wheel. The road was sloped and the bus fell after losing control."
