The Canadian government has announced the allocation of more than two million dollars to Ukraine to enhance the drone industry on Ukrainian soil.
Canadian Minister of Defence Bill Blair wrote in a post on the "X" social media platform yesterday, Friday, that "Canada is allocating 3 million Canadian dollars (2.1 million US dollars) for Ukraine's drone industry."
He added that "this is the first time Canada is making a direct contribution to the military drone industry in Ukraine."
The minister also confirmed that Canada will allocate 13 million Canadian dollars (9.5 million US dollars) to support the Czech initiative for purchasing ammunition for Ukraine.
It is worth mentioning that the Czech Republic's initiative for purchasing ammunition, launched last February, aims to supply Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery shells through joint purchasing efforts from several countries around the world, due to the inability of European industries to produce the required quantity of ammunition in a short period.
