The Palestinian Red Crescent announced a short while ago the martyrdom of 5 Palestinians and the injury of 3 others as a result of the Israeli occupation forces targeting one of their exclusive headquarters in Khan Yunis twice consecutively, according to what was reported by Al Cairo News Channel in a breaking news earlier.

Dr. Abdul Jalil Hanjal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent, said that the Gaza Strip is facing a widespread outbreak of epidemics and chronic diseases in many areas.

Dr. Abdul Jalil Hanjal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent, added during a phone interview on Al Cairo News Channel that medical teams are working in field hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Al-Arish International Airport in North Sinai received today, Tuesday, a humanitarian relief aid plane from Pakistan on behalf of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Khaled Zayed, head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, said in a press statement that the Pakistani plane arrived at Al-Arish Airport carrying 20 tons of food items and medical supplies on board for the people of the Gaza Strip.

Zayed added that Red Crescent volunteers are unloading the contents of the plane in preparation for transporting them to the Red Crescent warehouses in Al-Arish city, in preparation for their entry into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land port in North Sinai.

He pointed out that Pakistan has provided more than 200 tons of humanitarian and medical aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip during the past period.

Cyprus and the United Kingdom also announced today the dispatch of the first shipment of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza.

The Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement from its embassy in Cairo that a shipment of humanitarian aid weighing about 90 tons has arrived in Port Said and is being transported in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent to the Rafah land port, and that the shipment provided by Cyprus was transported on board a British naval vessel, indicating that the shipment also includes 10 tons of medicines contributed by the Republic of Cyprus.

The Cypriot Foreign Ministry explained that the process of receiving and distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip will be carried out through the relevant agencies according to existing arrangements, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The Chargé d’Affaires and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Cairo attended the ceremony of the arrival of the humanitarian aid shipment to Port Said.

The Cypriot Foreign Ministry confirmed that it responded to the ethical commitment to help address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and worked to create an additional option for the international community with various implementation possibilities, explaining that the initiative to establish a one-way maritime corridor to deliver humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza had specific criteria from the beginning.

It stated that these criteria include first establishing an operational mechanism for receiving, storing, and safely loading large quantities of humanitarian aid in a way that meets the increasing security needs of the concerned parties, and secondly ensuring cooperation with countries that possess maritime capabilities.

It indicated that the implementation aspect of the "Amlthia" plan includes the option of immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, noting that the use of this capability was previously unavailable but has now been made available and can be realized when the international community chooses to activate it.

It added that the Republic of Cyprus is doing its utmost to contribute to quickly addressing the deteriorating situation, noting that Cyprus, through its multifaceted contributions, enhances its role in the region, having already provided a significant financial contribution for 2023, which is much higher compared to previous years, reaching 1.1 million euros from the Cypriot side through UNRWA, the World Food Programme, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as well as the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

According to the statement, the development of the "Amlthia" plan has started and is being enhanced with the participation of the concerned parties, and efforts will continue by adapting to developments on the ground.

The Cypriot Foreign Ministry stated that the process involves consultations with directly concerned parties and interested partners aimed at optimal implementation of the operational aspects of the initiative, which includes immediate, medium, and long-term planning options as well as implementation options.

It emphasized that the requirements of the safe departure point, which is Larnaca and has the necessary vital infrastructure, have been secured, tested, implemented, and approved, noting that efforts will continue with respect for the "sensitivity of the matter and the need for responsible information in a way that does not undermine efforts."

In a related context, the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" announced that the 35th Saudi relief plane departed today, Tuesday, from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, heading to Al-Arish International Airport, operated by the King Salman Relief Center, in preparation for its transportation to those affected inside the Gaza Strip.

The news agency stated that the plane carries 25 tons of food, medical, and shelter materials, as part of the popular campaign to aid the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

This comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s well-known role in standing with the brotherly Palestinian people during various crises and hardships they are going through.
