The Government Media Office in Gaza says that the Israeli occupation army destroyed 380 mosques and three churches in the Gaza Strip during its ongoing aggression on Gaza for more than 3 months.

Among the mosques and churches are archaeological mosques in a failed attempt to erase the Palestinian cultural and heritage presence and an attempt to obliterate historical landmarks and the Palestinian historical depth in the Gaza Strip, similar to the destruction of the Omari Mosque in Gaza City, Sheikh Shaaban Mosque, Al-Dhafar Damri Mosque in Shujaiya, and Khalil Al-Rahman Mosque east of Khan Yunis.

The Byzantine Jabalia Church and Sayyid Hashim Mosque in Gaza City, and Saint Porphyrius Church in Gaza City were also destroyed.

The origins of these mosques and churches date back to the Phoenician and Roman eras, some of which were built 800 years BC, 1400 years ago, and 400 years ago.
