French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that a German tourist was killed and two others were injured following an attack carried out by a French man in central Paris near the Eiffel Tower yesterday, Saturday.
Darmanin added from the scene of the attack, "A man attacked two people who are foreign tourists. A German tourist born in the Philippines died from the stabbing." The anti-terrorism public prosecutor's office said it would investigate the case.
The public prosecutor's office in the French capital also stated that the suspect was arrested and placed under investigation for two cases of murder and attempted murder handled by the criminal unit in Paris.
The suspected attacker, named Arman Rajabour Miandoup, a Frenchman born in 1997 to Iranian parents, stabbed to death a German man born in 1999 and injured two others with a hammer a few hundred meters from the Eiffel Tower.
The public prosecutor's office in the French capital stated that the suspect was arrested and placed under investigation in the case.
