The head of the pediatric department at "Kamal Adwan Hospital," Dr. Hossam Abu Safia, revealed the rise in the number of casualties among the injured due to the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the hospital, the refusal to provide them with medical aid, the prevention of entry of medical and food supplies, and the arrest of all its staff to 8 martyrs.

Abu Safia said in a phone interview with "Cairo News" channel today, Sunday, that the Israeli occupation committed grave and brutal crimes against humanity during the siege of the Kamal Adwan Hospital building for more than 7 days by targeting and destroying all essential needs including the oxygen station, water, the electric generator, arresting all of its medical staff, and preventing the entry of water, food, and medicine to treat patients and the injured, which led to the increase in the number of martyrs among the injured inside the hospital to 8 martyrs.

The Palestinian medical official described the conditions of children inside Kamal Adwan Hospital as "extremely critical," especially in light of their suffering from severe third and fourth-degree burns with a severe shortage of medical supplies inside the hospital.

Abu Safia condemned the continued targeting of health systems in Gaza by the occupation in what he described as a "heinous" manner under flimsy pretexts of the presence of armed groups inside them, pointing to the crimes committed by the occupation against the elderly inside Kamal Adwan Hospital located in the northern Gaza Strip.

He confirmed the difficulty of delivering humanitarian, medical, and food aid to the patients, wounded, and those affected by the aggression, especially amid the ongoing targeting of all areas of Gaza, praising the steadfastness of the people of northern Gaza Strip until this moment in the face of the occupation and their refusal of displacement plans to any other place.

He appealed to all countries of the world to look at the Palestinian people and take all actions and measures that would stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip, affirming the continuation of providing all medical services to the people of the Strip regardless of the cost, especially amid the complete collapse of the health system in Gaza.

Earlier, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the rise in the toll of victims since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, to more than 18,000 martyrs and more than 46,000 injured amid the ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation forces.
