The hostage-taker at a Lebanese bank surrendered to the security authorities, after reaching an agreement to grant him part of his savings, to put an end to the hostage situation that lasted since the morning of Thursday, August 11, 2022.
The Lebanese Red Cross reported that apparently none of the hostages were harmed during the operation.
The young Lebanese man entered, carrying weapons and flammable materials, on Thursday morning, to a bank branch on Hamra Street in Beirut, demanding his money while in possession of a highly flammable substance, threatening to set fire to himself and those in the branch. So far, he has fired 3 shots from his weapon.
