Three teenage siblings were killed in a car accident in Brampton on Saturday.
Peel police confirmed these details to CTV News Toronto on Monday morning, adding that the deceased were aged between 16, 17, and 19 years old.
Emergency crews were called to Elmvale Avenue and Conestoga Drive shortly after 2 a.m. for a single-vehicle collision.
The police said a car crashed into a tree in the area and caught fire.
When the fire was extinguished, three passengers in the vehicle were located and pronounced dead at the scene.
The police said they believe the white Honda Civic was heading south before the collision and left the road for an unknown reason.
The front end of the car was severely damaged after the collision, and a large amount of debris could be seen scattered around the crash site.
On the other hand, nearby residents who spoke to CP24 at the scene said they were awakened by a loud bang around midnight.
People who identified themselves as relatives and friends of the victims placed flowers at the scene in the hours following the accident.
Peel police have launched an investigation but have not released the names of the victims.
