The Israeli occupation forces raided today (Thursday) the refugee camp in Jenin in the West Bank, and also launched an airstrike on the camp. The Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced the killing of ten Palestinians by the security forces’ gunfire in the camp, and the injury of about 20 others.

Local sources said that one of the dead is Ayham Al-Amer, who is an officer in the Palestinian National Guard security. The attack was carried out today at noon, and the Israeli army said it knows the number of militants killed, adding that the activity in the camp continues.

The Ministry of Health in Ramallah also said that Palestinians were martyred last night in two separate incidents in the south of the West Bank, namely Muhammad Thabta (50 years old), who was martyred by gunfire last night in Beit Fajjar south of Bethlehem, and Anas Abu Atwan, 30 years old, who was shot dead last night in Dura south of Hebron.

Regarding the incident that took place in Dura, the army said that during the “operation to suppress terrorism in the village,” Molotov cocktails and stones were thrown at the forces. According to the statement, the forces responded by firing and a hit was recorded.

According to the "Haaretz" newspaper earlier today, the Israeli army announced that the security forces conducted operations across the West Bank against Hamas activists last night, and arrested nine wanted persons.

The announcement stated that forces from the army, Shin Bet, and security forces operating in the Jenin refugee camp confronted militants, who opened fire and threw explosives at them, and the forces responded by firing. Reports also indicated that an Israeli Defense Forces plane attacked militants from the air in the city, and engineering tools revealed and destroyed dozens of explosive devices in the refugee camp.

Meanwhile, leaflets were distributed in the Jenin refugee camp, with an appeal to the residents as follows: “The IDF activity inside the camp is due to terrorist activity you support. The IDF will remain here and will return at the specified time, after time passes until the complete elimination of terrorism. Stay away from terrorism and live in peace. You have been warned.”

Since the outbreak of the war in the south, a noticeable escalation has also occurred in the West Bank; 170 Palestinians have been killed in confrontations with the Israeli army and settlers since the start of the war. The army announced that more than 1430 wanted persons have been arrested throughout the West Bank since the start of the war, claiming that more than 900 of them are affiliated with the Hamas organization.
