The Jordanian army held the Israeli authorities "responsible for the safety of the crew of its field hospital in Khan Younis," south of the Gaza Strip, after one of its members was injured.
The Jordanian army announced the injury of a member of the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Younis as a result of clashes around it.
A military source responsible in the general command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said, "One of the members of the Jordanian field hospital specializing in No. 2 in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, was injured during the past hours due to clashes around the hospital."
He pointed out that "the condition of the injured, who was wounded in the right thigh area and the right hand, is moderate, and he will be airlifted to the kingdom to receive the necessary treatment under royal directives," explaining that "a Palestinian from Gaza who was being treated in the intensive care unit in the hospital was also injured by shrapnel and a bullet during the aggression."
He confirmed that "the hospital, which suffered severe material damage as a result of the continuous Israeli shelling around it since yesterday hours until this Wednesday morning, will continue to perform its medical and humanitarian duty towards the people in the Gaza Strip," holding Israel "fully responsible for the safety of the hospital’s crew who are performing their humanitarian duty according to international laws and customs."
He stressed that "the attack on the Jordanian field hospital represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949," adding: "The Jordanian government will take all necessary measures as a result of this aggression."
It is worth noting that the Jordanian army, in the past hours, sent 20 trucks to the Gaza Strip loaded with food and medical supplies, to alleviate the current tragedies in the sector, and this was done in coordination with the Hashemite Jordanian Authority.
Earlier, the Hashemite Jordanian Charity Authority announced the sending of new aid to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The Authority mentioned in a brief statement via its digital platforms that the 18th aid plane carrying clothes had been sent to Al-Arish Airport to be delivered through the Rafah land crossing to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
