A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said on Monday evening that the Armed Forces' investigations revealed plans targeting the Kingdom's national security.

The responsible military source in the General Command confirmed the continued clash of the Jordanian Border Guard forces with armed groups since Monday dawn.

The source stated that the Jordanian forces arrested 9 smugglers who were with the armed groups.

He added that 4 rockets of the "Rocket Launcher" type, 4 rockets of the "RPG" model, 10 anti-personnel mines, a "G3" sniper rifle, and an "M16" rifle equipped with a sniper scope were seized.

He confirmed that a car loaded with explosive materials was destroyed, in addition to seizing very large quantities of drugs, which are being accounted for to be referred to the competent authorities.

The source explained that the preliminary investigations of these operations and seizures target Jordanian national security, confirming that the Armed Forces are monitoring the movements of the armed groups and their attempts to undermine national security and will do whatever is necessary to deter and pursue them wherever they are.

He pointed out in this context that the Armed Forces are equipped with a highly advanced border security system with high readiness to confront all attempts to cross the Jordanian borders and approach them.

Earlier, a Jordanian military source stated that armed clashes occurred between the Border Guard forces and armed groups on the northern border, resulting in the thwarting of smuggling large quantities of drugs, automatic weapons, and missiles.

The source confirmed that the armed groups are being expelled into Syrian territory, noting that a number of injuries occurred among members of the Jordanian Border Guard forces, with their health condition ranging from mild to moderate.
