The official spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Ashraf Al-Qudra, confirmed that Israeli forces are pressuring to evacuate the Indonesian Hospital as soon as possible.
Al-Qudra said - in statements to Al Arabiya Al Hadath news channel today, Thursday - "The occupation forces requested those present in the Indonesian Hospital to evacuate within 4 hours," noting that there is no coordination so far for the exit of these wounded and medical teams.
He added that the Israeli occupation is launching a large campaign against hospitals and medical teams and is targeting the vicinity of hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, whether Al-Shifa Complex, the Indonesian Hospital, Kamal Adwan, or Al-Awda, which increases the danger to the lives of everyone inside those hospitals.
He explained that the Indonesian Hospital has 200 wounded, companions, and medical teams, and about 180 inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and there are hundreds still present inside Al-Awda and Kamal Adwan hospitals, pointing out that these hospitals have remained operating at their minimum capacity as small hospitals and are unable to bear the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the northern area and the large number of wounded it produces; therefore, we demand urgent intervention to safely evacuate all those present inside the hospitals.
He indicated that hospitals in southern Gaza are not in better condition than the north because they lack all medical and pharmaceutical requirements as well as health cadres and fuel; therefore, they do not provide lifesaving medical services to the victims of the aggression.
He noted that the arrest of the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, and a number of medical cadres represents a serious danger regarding the criminal practices of the Israeli occupation against medical teams, calling on the United Nations and the World Health Organization to take urgent measures to release the colleagues and holding the Israeli occupation responsible for the safety of the medical cadres.
On the other hand, the media official of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Mai Al-Sayegh, confirmed that yesterday 90% of the remaining patients and their families at Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip were evacuated to the European Hospital in Khan Younis and Al-Najjar Kidney Dialysis Hospital.
The media official of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation said in a statement to Al Arabiya Al Hadath channel today that the teams of the Palestinian Red Crescent are evacuating the wounded and patients under difficult conditions including shelling and roadblocks, which make the evacuation process difficult and full of many obstacles.
Al-Sayegh explained that Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent, operates under harsh conditions including the lack of water, electricity, and fuel, and that three of the Red Crescent paramedics were arrested yesterday, calling for respect of international humanitarian law as protection must be provided for paramedics and Palestinian Red Crescent vehicles.
