The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Iraq has filed a complaint against Iran to the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations after the bombing that targeted the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said - in a statement reported by Alsumaria News channel - "Iraq submitted a complaint to the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations, yesterday /Tuesday/, concerning the Iranian missile aggression that targeted the city of Erbil and resulted in casualties among innocent civilians, injuries to others, and caused damage to public and private properties."

According to the statement, the Iraqi ministry filed the complaint "through two identical letters to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council via the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq in New York."

The statement added that the letters emphasized that this aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of the Iraqi people.

Erbil, in northern Iraq, was targeted at dawn yesterday by ballistic missile strikes, after which the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted what it described as "Mossad Israeli espionage centers."
