King Charles III delivered his first Throne Speech before Parliament today, Tuesday, through which the Conservative government led by Rishi Sunak sought to present a "long-term" vision as the election date approaches.
In his speech, Charles said the government will address the most urgent security issues, including the consequences of the brutal terrorist acts against the people of Israel, facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza, and supporting the cause of peace and stability in the Middle East.
The British newspaper "The Independent" also reported that a national Holocaust memorial will be built next to Parliament, which the government pledged when it reaffirmed its efforts to tackle anti-Semitism following the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation.
It was mentioned that the construction of a Holocaust memorial and education center was first pledged in January 2015, and the construction plan in Victoria Tower Gardens in central London faced difficulties due to a 1900 law protecting the gardens.
On Tuesday, as part of the king's speech, it was confirmed that the Holocaust Memorial Bill will return to the next parliamentary session.
Meanwhile, the war between Hamas and Israel entered its 31st day since the start of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, as the Israeli army continues bombing the Gaza Strip amid international fears of the widening conflict in the Middle East.
Also, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll has risen to 10,328, more than half of whom are children, while more than 20,000 others were injured.
On the Israeli side, more than 1,500 people were killed, including hundreds of soldiers.
