Amid the ongoing efforts of international and regional mediators to push Israel and Hamas to accept the American proposal for mutual agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners, while some voices within Israel still warn about the issue of Hamas's existence, the latter confirmed that it will not leave Gaza.

Ghazzi Hamad, a member of the political bureau of the movement said late last night: "They will not remove us from the Palestinian political equation."
He also added, in an interview with the "Al-Hekaya" program on MBC Egypt, that "Hamas will not leave Gaza, but the one who will leave is the occupation," as he put it.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the proposal presented by U.S. President Joe Biden last Friday included much of what the movement had originally proposed, knowing that the U.S. administration had previously hinted that the new plan was presented by Israel.

He also stressed that it includes a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal in the second phase outside the sector, and the return of displaced persons without any conditions.
