On Sunday, the Hamas movement announced that it is determined to reach an agreement that meets the demands of the Palestinian people, stating that the movement's delegation has handed over Hamas's response to the mediators in Egypt and Qatar, where in-depth and serious discussions took place.

The Hamas movement confirmed in an official statement on Sunday that the round of ceasefire talks regarding Gaza in Cairo has concluded, noting that the Hamas delegation left Cairo that night to consult with the movement's leadership in Qatar.

The statement mentioned: "The movement's delegation has handed over the movement's response to the mediators in Egypt and Qatar, where in-depth and serious discussions took place."

It added: "The movement confirms its positive and responsible engagement, and its commitment and determination to reach an agreement that meets the national demands of our people, fully ends the aggression, achieves withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip, returns the displaced, intensifies relief efforts, initiates reconstruction, and accomplishes a prisoner exchange deal."

A high-ranking Egyptian source earlier stated that the ongoing negotiations to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza are progressing positively, noting that the terms of the agreement published in some media are not accurate, confirming that one of those terms relates to the return of the displaced from the south of the strip to the north.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority clarified, citing informed sources, that "Hamas's approval of the proposal on the table means accepting a deal whereby 33 Israeli detainees would be released in exchange for 40 days of calm and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners."
