The German government is considering supplying the Zionist entity with precision-guided artillery shells, after the relevant government interests involved in such operations approved the Israeli request amid strict secrecy, according to the German newspaper "Der Spiegel".

According to the information obtained by the newspaper, Israel requested Germany in November to approve the provision of 10,000 precision-guided 120mm artillery shells.

The newspaper said that the two sides agreed to maintain silence about this operation, considering that Tel Aviv does not want to allow "any conclusions to be drawn about its military capabilities".

At the same time, the occupation entity submitted a similar request to the United States and its other partners, and U.S. President Joe Biden approved the delivery of 14,000 tank artillery shells worth about $106 million in early December, bypassing Congress.

At that time, there was talk in Washington about the difficulties Israel is facing in continuing the war it is waging on the Gaza Strip.

The Pentagon also announced that the sale would be from the U.S. Army's stockpile, adding in a statement that "the State Department used emergency powers under the Arms Export Control Act for immediate delivery of tank shells".

"Der Spiegel" indicated that work continues in the German government to implement the deal after obtaining the necessary approvals, where the use of the German Army's stockpiles is being considered, given that the manufacturer cannot immediately meet the demand, and that the government will replenish the army's warehouses from the manufacturers' production within a period ranging from six to eight months.
