German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock indirectly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his rejection of the two-state solution.

During a meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Baerbock said today, Monday: "All those who do not want it have not yet presented an alternative."

Baerbock said the key issue now is to emphasize that Israel can only live in security if the Palestinians can also live in safety and dignity.

She mentioned that Palestinians cannot at the same time live with dignity, security, and freedom unless Israel lives in security, "and therefore the two-state solution is the only solution," pointing out that Germany will do everything in its power to achieve this solution.

Baerbock added that this solution "is more than complicated but the alternative, which is to do nothing and just wait, is not an option for us."

It is worth noting that in addition to Germany and the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States also emphasize the need to establish an independent Palestinian state.

Nevertheless, Netanyahu announced the day before yesterday, Saturday, his rejection of US President Joe Biden’s statements that reaching a two-state solution after the Gaza war is possible with Netanyahu in power.

Netanyahu wrote on the X platform: "I will not accept any compromise solutions if it concerns full Israeli control over all the western areas of the Jordan River - and this contradicts the existence of a Palestinian state."
