A new group of foreign passport holders left today, Thursday, via the Rafah crossing in the Gaza Strip, where fierce fighting is ongoing between the "Hamas" movement and the Israeli army at several points on the ground, with continued intense Israeli bombardment causing more deaths and injuries.
Amidst the battles, "Hamas" rejected in a statement the American remarks about working on an international regional consensus to manage the Gaza Strip after the war ends, considering them "rude and unacceptable statements." The movement confirmed its rejection of imposing "guardianship" on the Palestinian people, adding that the latter "alone is capable of determining its fate, future, and interests."
The Israeli army announced in a statement today that its ground forces engaged in "long battles" overnight in the Gaza Strip, during which they killed dozens of members of the "Hamas" movement, which used anti-tank rockets, explosive charges, and hand grenades during the fighting.
The army added that it continues to bomb the movement's sites in the Strip by land, sea, and air, including weapons factories, warehouses, and launch pads for anti-armor rockets and drones.
Meanwhile, Egypt announced that it is preparing to evacuate seven thousand foreigners holding more than 60 nationalities from the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Doctors Without Borders announced that more than 20,000 injured are still in the Strip after it evacuated a first batch of wounded and sick from Gaza to Egypt yesterday, Wednesday, via the Rafah crossing.
In the early hours of this morning, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that explosions were heard around Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City, noting that Israeli authorities had previously informed the hospital of the necessity to evacuate immediately, which UN officials say is an impossible order to carry out without endangering patients.
In the Jabalia camp, which was subjected to intense Israeli bombardment for two days, at least 195 Palestinians were killed according to the authorities affiliated with "Hamas," in strikes Israel says targeted movement leaders, while UN-affiliated organizations warned that these could amount to "war crimes."
