The temperature in the Canadian province of Quebec exceeded 23 degrees Celsius in the city of Montreal on Saturday, an unprecedented rate 15 degrees above average, according to the Ministry of the Environment.
The previous record was recorded on November 10, 2020, when the temperature reached 22.4 degrees, according to the ministry.
Dominique Martel, a meteorological expert at the Canadian Ministry of the Environment, said: "This is the first time we have recorded a similar temperature in November since we started recording data, it is a record rate."
The penultimate record rate dates back to November 1948 when the temperature reached 21.7 degrees.
Temperatures gradually rose since the beginning of the week due to a warm air mass coming from the southern United States.
Patrick Dublesis, a meteorological expert on "Meteomedia" television, confirmed that the heat wave will not last long, as "a shift to winter is expected around mid-November.. which may mean the first snowfall of the season in Montreal and surrounding areas, with temperatures approaching zero degrees Celsius.
