Rain, freezing rain, snow, and strong winds will affect a large area in central and northwest Alberta on Monday.
However, the storm impact is likely to continue until Tuesday morning.
The winter storm warning is still in effect for the city of Edmonton and the surrounding areas, as well as most of central, north-central, and northwest Alberta.
It is also likely that this will turn into a "warning" by Sunday night.
Heavy snow is expected tonight Sunday first in northwest Alberta, then freezing rain early tomorrow Monday.
The storm will then move southeast across the province until Monday.
Rain will fall in Edmonton and the area or some mixed rain and snow with a risk of freezing rain on Monday morning, which will cause major travel problems in the morning.
The rain will turn to snow late Monday, with several centimeters expected by Monday night or Tuesday morning.
This snow will cover roads and icy sidewalks causing travel problems during Monday, including the afternoon period.
