A winter storm will sweep Quebec on Tuesday and Wednesday accompanied by a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow.

The Canadian Environment Agency warned of a drop in temperatures west of the province on Tuesday morning before the frost extends eastward, leaving large accumulations of ice and snow on the ground.

For the Montreal area and the entire St. Lawrence River Valley, ice accumulation is expected to be 5 to 10 centimeters in the evening, when temperatures are above freezing, possibly reaching 8 degrees in the capital alone.

In the Outaouais area and the western sectors of the region, snow will begin in the morning leaving accumulations of up to 10 cm on the ground accompanied by snowfall and a temperature drop to -12 degrees.

As for Mauricie and the neighboring cities, the weather will generally be cloudy, but freezing rain will begin in the evening before quickly turning into heavy rain overnight.
