According to meteorologist Gilles Brien, "This week, Quebec experienced the coldest temperatures in North America, even in the Arctic, it is not this cold."
Quebec had the coldest January in 18 years.
In the past few days, temperatures at Lake Saint Jean reached -45 degrees Celsius.
"It is a very cold winter; Brien said: "January 2022 is the coldest month the province has seen in 18 years."
On the other hand, temperatures will be more moderate in the province.
"The weather should return to normal next Saturday, around -1 and -2. Brien confirmed, "But for now, we are very far from normal, we still have 30 to 40 days of severe cold ahead."
