Alexander Schallenberg, the Austrian Foreign Minister, said that the foreign ministers of the European Union unanimously support a ceasefire and the establishment of humanitarian corridors in Gaza in order to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population.
Schallenberg added in a statement today, Monday, that the foreign ministers of the 27 EU countries are discussing the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine in Brussels today, explaining that a ceasefire is an urgent necessity, stressing the need to adhere to international humanitarian law and that Israel is bound by it like any other country.
The EU foreign policy coordinator Josep Borrell had confirmed that all EU countries clearly support the issue of an "immediate ceasefire."
Borrell called on Israel to avoid civilian casualties and, considering the "catastrophic situation," Gaza needs more assistance, demanding a solution to what should happen after the war.
